Sequential circuits samplers

Hello fellow Sequential users.
I have an older prophet 2000 (0276) and am having trouble getting it
to recieve midi clock messages to run the arpeggiator.
I have done exactly what the manual says to do,and have even spoke to
Winecountry regarding the manner. Winecountry (who was very helpful)
said  that some units under 100 have their functions buttons in
different places and asked me to check every parameter to see if its
under another heading. Well its not and I'm still stumped. They
believe its some sort of hardware issue altho they have never heard of
such a problem. 
It recieves incoming midi data when the arpeggiator is turned off and
also sends "out" clock messages when the arpeggiators turned on,but it
will not recieve them.
Is there anyone out there that has had the same problem with their
hardware? And if so any advice?? Thanks.
