Is the P2000 multi-timbral? Can you play more then 1 sound at a time on 
seperate midi channels?

both the 2000 and the 2002 support something that sci called midi mode 3b; 
the left and right "maps" can be made to respond to different midi channels 
for a duo-timbral output. their even-weirder mode 4 support dates back to the 
original definition of midi v1.0 and has the box play each of it's sixteen 
samples across the whole transposable range on it's own channel. 
I use mode 3b for most of my library, and never found a use for mode 4.
in the case of the keyboard version, the left map is the "master", 
determining which channel the keyboard, wheels and presets are transmitted on.
