Is there only one type of memory expansion, or are there two?

Is there only one type of memory expansion, or are there two?

I was under the impression that a P2k could be expanded to 512k, and
then there was another expansion available that took it further to a
place called "1-meg". I just dug up old literature from wine country,
from when I ordered an expansion kit ten years ago. It mentions that a
1-meg expansion allows you to load two 512k discs into memory. It
mentions that you can access each disc from the control panel. I wonder
how to determine if this has been done. A picture of the board
installed in the machine would be great, I'd know what to look for.
Another thing to solve this mystery would be instructions for loading
two discs, and then accessing them from the control panel. I don't feel
like calling wine country, because they always want me to buy
something. I much prefer this form of question and answer dialog. I
will call them as a last resort, in several months, but I hope one of
you brainiac synthesists can help me. I don't really need two discs
loaded at once, since I use it as something of a monosynth on a
dedicated midi channel. It would just be another thing to understand
about the cryptic P2k. Thanks. ESW
