I found out how to identify if your P2k has been expanded to 1-meg.

If you open it up, and look at the circuit boards inside, there will be three small boards piggy-backed upon one-another. This is the 1-meg configuration. To access the loading of two boards: hold down PRESET, and press EXECUTE. A decimal will light up in the bottom right-hand corner of the display screen. This is the other 256k spot. Hold down PRESET, and press EXECUTE again, and the decimal point goes away. You are back to the first 256k spot. And there it is. I was wrong to say that wine country, would be my last resort, because they only wanted my money. A fellow by the name of David Sesnak instantly answered my question, upon picking up the phone. He was so versed in P2k info, and incredibly nice, that he must be considered a P2k Master. Wine country is now at the top of my list, in terms of gear support.Now in midi type 3b the Prophet 2000 can have one 256k disc being triggered on one midi channel; and another 256k disc being triggered on another. This effectively doubles an expanded P2k.It's quite nice, and instantly at your finger tips. I am fortunate enough to have bought mine without even knowing this had been done. Nice surprise. ESW
