Can anyone here verifiy the Teac 235HFA drive works with the P2?
If so which 235HFA drive is it? there are several with that number.
Anything I need to know when replacing the disc drive?

There was a good link in the bookmarks section of this grp. It has
this to say about drives:

> Replacement Drives
It seems many people have the need to replace there p2k floppy drive.
The original DSD-200 replacement drive kit may be hard to find.
Apparently these replacements can be used (although i have not
verified this):

Toshiba FDD4216G0K
Sony MP-F53W-00D
Cannon MD-350
Sony 63W
TEAC FD-235HF (thanks to nick bittakis)
SONY MT-2 1-623-457-14 (new! thanks to david borman

I just got my P2000, and don't have a manual *yet*, so I am still
struggling a bit as well.

Hope the above helps

Tim

did it ever occur to you that some of us might have day jobs/other stuff to
do?
I was looking at my 2002 this afternoon and wondering to myself how it could
be so hard to make a new fd work; there was no group when I did it, nor yet a
proper internet. maybe the drives that are around now are harder to configure
than they were in 1991 (looks at new-ish fd; nope. same jumpers &c. if it
doesn't work, move the jumper 'til it does. s'what I did, on two machines.)
what *was* obvious from my brief meditation is that you're fucked without a
op-manual. over the next few days, I will attempt to write (and then post) a
quick-starter so's you can get the full benefit of the machine's numerous
hidden features.

less it with the "list is dead" shit. personally, I was away playing with
some of my toys. this is a resource for prophet sampler users, not your local
pub.

I did not ask you to fix my P2 and I didn't send you Insulting
Emails, I did however send you an Email asking if you had any more
information other than the list of unconfirmed drives and dead links to
others who have provided more unconfirmed drives you have posted on your
lame ass web page. Which then you decided to to take persionaly (which you
should have before you posted)

>>(without properly reading the info my p2k website).

You have nothing on your web site other than an old list of unconfirmed
drives, nice info! and your grammar needs work.

Get your head out of your ass, I asked a legitimate P2
question based on the lack of information provided on the web. This is a
forum for Prophet information, information is what I asked for.

I don't require an op manual thank you, but If you take a close look at the
drives on the unconfirmed list you will see that all but two are discontinued
drives. This is why I asked if anyone had any info on the Teac FD235 series
since it's still available.

There are also 8 different models of the Teac FD235 series, wouldn't it be
great if ac took the time to confirm the Teac drive that Nick provided to the
unconfirmed list?

I know how to config a drive but I wanted to find out if anyone had any luck
with this series, or had any info on the FDC controller on the P2 MB.

The drive I asked about (the Teac) is missing several of it's model numbers,
It could be one of eight differnt drive's that all start with the same
FD235HF unit number.

Teac drive's in production
1. FD235HFA110
2. FD235HFA529
3. FD235HFA429
4. FD235HFA240
5. FD235HFB291
6. FD235HFC291
7. FD235HFS111 maybe SCSI 2 mode
8. FD235HFS111-N maybe SCSI 2 mode
