Well I just thought I'd share a disappointing piece of information (to some I'm sure).
I put one of the new OS4 chips into my P2K and to my dismay sound designer can no longer receive my sample dumps.
The only thing I can narrow it down to is in midi channel select there is a + sign there now that isn't there in the OS3 version,and if I execute it to the - sign it still doesn't work.
Lucky I have two prophets but I know for sure now I won't be upgrading the other one.
For those of you that may have tried to use sound designer without any luck maybe this is the problem. 
Anyone else have luck with the OS4 chip?

Are you referring to the v4.3 rom ?

I just tested SD for Prophet 2000 with my two P2000 keyboards:
1/ On my basic v2.1 version, SD sample dumps don't work, but parameter read/write works.
2/ On my v4.2 version, everything works fine.
The v4.3 rom is on its way to replace the v2.1...
Would this incompatibility have been introduced with the 4.2 to 4.3 upgrade ?
(by the way, are v3 roms available somewhere ?)

Ok so I finally opened up the p2k and noticed that the one not working with sound designer had an OS 2 chip..hmm,so after breaking the chip!!(heres where someone volunteers to send me a new one) I came to the conclusion that the problem dumping to and from sound designer was with my specific p2k. See when I got it years ago I noticed that in the arp rate field I didnt have the "MI" option for syncing to midi and after long talks with winecountry we couldnt figure out what the hell was up with that...I found out later it will sync but you have to press execute on the arp rate screen to do so...I also tried that with sound designer but it didnt help...so I figure the midi implementation is wacky on that one p2k and maybe someone out there has that same problem (so I just cleared it up for you).
Anyway my other p2k with os 4.3 works fine with sound designer (I originally thought that the os in the not working one was 4.3 sorry!!)
but I do get an error message from sound designer when I select the looping menu and have to restart the mac.
Any way thats the story and I appologize to anyone that was paying attention to this post for my bad reporting and my late addition.
 Oh btw I was getting a ND error on one of my p2ks but after pressing the floppy cable into the board harder and a bit of wiggling it no longer says ND (who knows why but good for me) sometimes it takes that magic touch...but I do wish the legs on the OS chips were more durable...well time to buy another chip from wine country... 
And for anyone that thinks these samplers are not worth all our headaches and hassles...your dead wrong they've got the sweetest sound,I'll never sell mine.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
