an archaic 3.5" Double sided single density 720K disc. Is that true? Where
do you get them? I just read a topic regarding a replacement drive that
turns the disc drive into a card reader or something.. What do I need to do
to make sure everything works? I have downloaded the manual from the
analoghell.com page. That was very helpful.

about this interesting machine, even if I'm late to the party!

Obligatory Newbie stupid question here..

2011-01-14 by John

OK I just found this Prophet 2000 and it had no discs with it! It does have the new rev and the 8 voice outs! I'm happy about that. Now I want to test the disc drive to see if it can save sounds.

I'm starting to read up on the Prophet 2000 and it appears that you need an archaic 3.5" Double sided single density 720K disc. Is that true? Where do you get them? I just read a topic regarding a replacement drive that turns the disc drive into a card reader or something.. What do I need to do to make sure everything works? I have downloaded the manual from the analoghell.com page. That was very helpful.

In a nutshell, glad to join up with this group, I'm a drummer and synthesist who has a few older analog synth toys including a Simmons SDS-8 set, a Minimoog, and a Roland SH-1 and Juno 60. Looking forward to learning about this interesting machine, even if I'm late to the party!

Thanks!

I use the 1.4 meg disks and put tape over the density hole. They work
just fine.
