Replacement two way Switches for Prophet 2000

Replacement two way Switches for Prophet 2000

2011-05-21 by Andrew Hyde

Hi Everyone,

I have a good working example of Prophet 2000 and I'm based in London UK. Unfortunately, the back panel, input switch, that switched between Line and mic source, has totally fallen apart. It also looks like the MIDI "IN/THRU" is going the same way. I just wondered if anyone else had come across this before and found where to find direct replacement of the original switches or could recommend a more modern equivalent (a mod) that works.

Many Thanks.

Andrew.

Hi Andrew,

these switches are the weakest points on the prophets....I puzzeld mine back together.....but I won't touch them anymore.
I'm also intrested in fixing these.

Mine went out as well (damaged in shipping), but you should be able to get a right-angle DPDT slide switch from
a reputable electronics parts dealer in your local region. Switches usually are measured by pin spacing so that's how
to size the switch to the board.

Alternatively, you could solder jumpers in place if you only want one fixed feature.

I have not yet replaced mine. It's been a while, but if I recall correctly, it is DPDT.
