i have a document entitled "preliminary service data". it describes six diagnostic routines -- LED, ADC, NV RAM, I/O Toggle, Output, and Keyboard.
to enter diagnostics mode, hold down switches 0 and 2 while powering up. the display should then tell you you're in diag mode. after a while a prompt comes up, hit the Name button to page through the tests and the Enter button to run the test.
careful, some of them are destructive, though the mode does warn you.
i might have an electronic copy of this around, i'll check. if i find it i will put it in the files section.
