That's clearly AGC circuit to have constant noise level regardless of transistor used or any other time changing parameters. AC is rectified by TR7, filtered by RC network and buffered by next transistor to create usable CV for the VCA

Can anyone confirm what IC3 (BA662 OTA) is doing in the Noise Generator part

of the JX-3P schematic attached?



At first I thought it was to allow the noise level in a patch to be

adjusted, but on closer inspection it looks like the OTA is in some sort of

local feedback loop, intended to keep the noise amplitude constant, maybe?
