you got it - one is transistor, one tube. Mr Douglas was pretty keen
to implement 'new' technology.
i posted the full article in the Douglas file. Doesn't seem to be much
of an output section included - maybe check out Ken's noise cct for a
way to get a decent output

There are also noise ccts in Judd (with article) and Scroggie.
Scroggie's must be the cream of noise circuits with 2 EF86s, seems 
kind of strange to use good audio tubes to get noise.
