Vintage Synth Repair

HI:I've had battery replacements where you soldered in the battery and 
everything looked good but the solder connection was not making connection 
due to plating on the battery leads,I had to file the plating off the 
battery leads to get a good connection,if you check the voltage right at the 
battery you will get a good reading so check the battery voltage at a point 
away from where you soldered it in to make sure it's making good 
connection,I've been a tech for 30 years so I know how to solder but this 
threw me off because the connections look good but they're not.
