Voyetra Eight rev 4 images, questions & initialized patch tip

2006-07-13 by Casio Rapman

Hi guys. I'm doing some research on the Voyetra 8.

I only skimmed through it briefly, but this site by Joan Sarah Touzet has a
lot of interesting Voyetra 8 info:

http://www.wohmart.com/v8/

I tried to email her directly but I don't see her email address there, so
Joan, if you're reading this, could you please email me privately?

I see she's posted Voyetra 8 rev 4 ROM images and had a few questions, for
the V8 experts who may be reading...

1. are there different versions of rev 4 software or just 1?
2. is the version on Joan's site the last update they made available?
3. can all Voyetra Eights be upgraded to rev 4 software?
4. what are the hardware differences between the rev 3 and rev 4? (if this
question isn't too much to answer)
5. a. can a rev 3 receive patch data from a rev 4?
    b. if yes, can it be done directly or does the signal need to be boosted
first?
6. does anyone have an audio file of the original factory V8 patches
available?

Finally, here's a tip for the frustrated Voyetra 8 user who doesn't want to
have to read the whole manual to find it.

To create an initialized patch (or "null" patch, as Voy called it), press

A440 + Left Call or A440 + Right Call, depending on where you want that null
patch (left or right location).

Thanks.
