Stephen, I don't know if it is applicable in your case, but in my studio (here in Canada), I have both 220 V and 110 V sockets, as half of my instruments come from Europe. Ask an electrician to modify your electrical wiring and to provide 220 V. I simply had to buy a couple of sockets last time I've been in Europe.
