Hi everyone, I am new to this group. I am a vocalist and keyboardist in the Sacramento area of California. Most of the performing I do is in church settings, but i also have a jazz a cappella group that I am directing. We sang last week at a pub in Sacramento and it went really well. Lately, I am working on gathering some equipment to experiment with voice -to-MIDI technology. I just bought a Roland VP-70 and got it last Thursday, and will be experimenting with it. I don't want to go the software route just yet, and hope to gather some hardware units, get a functioning pitch-to-MIDI system, then start using it with live looping to create full arrangements and sing over them. does anyone have any pearls of wisdom for me in this pursuit? I've heard that the Voicetracker is probably the best pitch-to-Midi device ever made, and have put an offer on one that currently resides in Germany. Does anyone else have one lying around that you would be willing to part with? or, does anyone have experience with other pitch-to-MIDI devices that they have found successful using voice? Thanks. Michael C.
