/any/ tech worthy of the name ought to be able to sort a prodigy out,
whether he has any previous synth experience or not. 
probably yours has a failed series regulator in the power supply. I
have had these fail in prodigy, source & pro-1 many times. it's a
simple fix, if you can find a tech who understands simple power
supplies & can solder neatly. again, no previous synth knowledge
should be required. if you need schematics, let this list know.
