I wouldn't pay much more than $100 if there were problems with the electronics. It would be worth more though if it was in decent cosmetic condition and/or can be cleaned up with no major dents or scratches. If it looks like dirt, $100 sounds about right. It may be easy to fix, like a bad power supply, or it can sometimes be something really bad like pc board corrosion. The keyboards on these go pretty frequently but can be cleaned if you don't mind disassembling most of the keyboard. If I remember correctly, it has these little rubber contact patches that need to be carefully removed without tearing in order to clean the contacts underneath. There are sites that sell kits for doing this I think. Look for stuff about the Poly-Six, Poly61, and DW-6000 keyboard because I think they share the same parts. -pc On Apr 8, 2010, at 6:53 PM, chthonicstreams wrote: > thanks for the guess. > > let's assume it either can't or won't be repaired and will be used > "as is". does anyone else agree on $100? that seems pretty low. i > know it's not the most popular synth, but i'm not trying to screw > the guy over or have my offer laughed at. > > --- In vintagesynthrepair@yahoogroups.com, Terje Winther > <terje.winther@...> wrote: >> >> The problem with vintage synthesizers is that in excellent shape they >> are a bit too expensive, and in bad shape they are really, really >> cheap.
