electronics. It would be worth more though if it was in decent
cosmetic condition and/or can be cleaned up with no major dents or
scratches. If it looks like dirt, $100 sounds about right. It may be
easy to fix, like a bad power supply, or it can sometimes be
something really bad like pc board corrosion. The keyboards on these
go pretty frequently but can be cleaned if you don't mind
disassembling most of the keyboard. If I remember correctly, it has
these little rubber contact patches that need to be carefully removed
without tearing in order to clean the contacts underneath. There are
sites that sell kits for doing this I think. Look for stuff about the
Poly-Six, Poly61, and DW-6000 keyboard because I think they share the
same parts. -pc

Re: [vintagesynthrepair] Re: korg mono/poly question: how much would you pay?
2010-04-09 by Frank Simon
This synth is worth say$700 tops. Correct me if I'm
wrong. Looks like a cool synth I have no experience with it but unless you are a
wizz bang synth expert, it can be a heart ache. I bought a Prophet 10, Korg
Trident II, and a Roland JX10 not working for $35 each and I am
not a synth tech but an electrical engineer and feel I should be able to fix
these guys and it is tough. There was some power supply issues on one but that
is as easy as it gets. I could go on but unless you are a great synth repair guy
it is not worth much. I will say however if you find someone willing to trouble
shoot and let you do the solder repair that would be cool but hey educations
aren't cheap and synth guy has to make money for his knowledge. My biggest
problem is I will pay good money for high level intellect but don't want to pay
the same money for the same guy spending hours soldering
components.
