I source all my IC's off ebay usually.

5501 ram is the same as 5101 ram which is plentiful also used in tons of
Williams pinballs and video games.

Subject: [vintagesynthrepair] Needs some chips: 4011 and TC5501P-1

I'm about to start mucking about with a few old drum machines (DR-55s,
Soundmasters and EDC). These were considered uneconomic to fix, 5 years ago.
Now, a DR-55 can go for £200..

Usual problem with DR-55s is the 4011 chips pack up. Maplins are charging nearly
a quid for a 4011, and I've found them to be a bit hit-or-miss. And they don't
have any in stock locally.

Anyone have a suggestion for a cheap UK supplier?

Next-up, I have at least one machine which is playing-up as if the RAM chip is
duff. Unfortunately, the chip is a Toshiba TC5501P-1.
Again, any suggestions for a cheap UK supplier?

What's really annoying is that I had a tube of 4011s somewhere (5 years ago).
Can I hell find them :(
