Vintage Synth Repair

Hi, I have an E-mu Emulator III but in a non working state. A client friend of mine gave it to me and he said it was in a working state although he took out the SCSI drive as he needed it. I tried to switch it on and supplies are all there but doesn't seem to work. Have tried to take all boards out and inspect but arrived nowhere.
I only have OS diskette and do not have Sound Test diskette I'm afraid.
