Vintage Synth Repair

Is this group only for synths, or could I slip in an Oberheim DX 
question? Basically I have an Oberheim DX that when I got it all that 
happens when I turn it on is I get a small red dot in the bottom 
right-hand corner of the display. I opened it up and the battery was 
not properly soldered in. Obviously someone tried replacing it 
because the battery that was in there was a 3v Kodak photolife 
battery. I read that the Oberheim DMX's took 3.6 nicad batterys and I 
don't know if the DX and DMX's take the same battery. 

So I guess what I'm asking is does anyone know what kind of battery I 
should get for this so I can be assured that it is a proper match. 
(also whoever soldered it broke one of the posts that connect the 
battery to the circuit board - can I replace it with a battery that 
has posts attached?).
