Yamaha KX-88 EPROM ?

Has anybody every hacked the KX-88 EPROM to allow full note velocity to be encoded/sent. I remember reading somewhere that it is limited to '120' rather than the full '127', which can be limiting wrt dynamic response in some synth/sampler patches. geoff
