Is this VCA function on ARPs some kind of thing that is only akin to
them.

Seems the VCAs I have on other synths (even though these are digital
and in the menus) do not function in this never ending sustain way.

Just curious.

Thanks guys and gals! I had the VCA gain up all the way which I turned
all the way down and then had to switch to ADSR to get some notes.

Many thanks!

Nick.

Re: ARP Odyssey problem

2004-09-28 by balderson04

I have a related problem:

It seems that the ADSR amount going into the VCA on my white-face Ody
starts to "creep" up as it warms up, so that, after an hour or so of
playing, there is a constant drone, even though the VCA Gain is down
and no note is being played. The amount of Release on the ADSR
doesn't make any difference.

I have to either pull the EG Amount slider down to about half or
switch out the ADSR and use the AR envelope generator on the VCA.

Anybody ever run into that?

You need to post your query on the Odyssey email discussion list. You
can get there through the Oddy web page:

Cleaning pots and switches

2004-10-07 by Jeremy Thomas

I know this is a basic question, but does anyone have a FAQ on how best to clean pots, switches, key contacts, etc?
