Did you check the j-wires, the connectors? reg, Eric. --- In vintagesynthrepair@yahoogroups.com, "daniel_muschinsky" <daniel@s...> wrote:

what do you mean by j-wires!!?! i checked the wires from the keycontacts to the circuitboard and the flat multi colored cable with the plug (j-wires?) from the circuitboard an on... it seems OK!! cheers! The J-wires are the keycontacts. Are they all under the busbar? I mean, maybe one of them is making a constant contact. reg, Eric. --- In vintagesynthrepair@yahoogroups.com, "daniel_muschinsky" <daniel@s...> wrote: > > what do you mean by j-wires!!?! > > i checked the wires from the keycontacts to the circuitboard and the > flat multi colored cable with the plug (j-wires?) from the > circuitboard an on... it seems OK!! > > cheers! Sounds like either a shorted keying diode or keying chip, whichever it uses. I don't have a print in front of me, but that's where I would look first if the key contacts are ok. Keith Niver Certified MITA tech

You ought to get an oscilloscope.. Check z24 and z23. If nothing changes at z24 then the logic part in front of z24 is gone. reg Eric. --- In vintagesynthrepair@yahoogroups.com, "Keith Niver" <kaniver@m...> wrote: > Sounds like either a shorted keying diode or keying chip, whichever it uses. > I don't have a print in front of me, but that's where I would look first if > the key contacts are ok. > > Keith Niver > Certified MITA tech > > -----Original Message----- > From: daniel_muschinsky [mailto:daniel@s...] > Sent: Tuesday, July 20, 2004 4:13 PM > To: vintagesynthrepair@yahoogroups.com > Subject: [vintagesynthrepair] Re: arp pro soloisy, not working!!! playing > the same note... > > > > oh! i see... > > nope. they are all good... > > > --- In vintagesynthrepair@yahoogroups.com, "desteric" <desteric@y...>

Hi Moogy, You should try to check the CV/GATE circuit. It's possible there's a short circuit. Also verify the j-wires from the keybord. On my Arp Axxe, I had the same problem with the last 10 notes or so. It would scale up until I got to a certain note, and then all notes above that were the same. The fix- One of the key contact wires was forced under the top bus bar. Since the bottom wire was free, the other notes would still trigger fine. But since the lower notes take precedence, it wouldn't play any notes above what was stuck. Easy fix. Literally took seconds. Good luck, -Mike Walters www.mysterycircuits.com
