another Arp Omni question

Well, I keep making slow, steady progress on my Arp Omni... here's another problem that has me thrown for a loop. In synth mode, the lower part of the keyboard is not "triggering". If a higher note is pressed at the same time, the lower notes will play, but played on their own they will not. Also, they will not start the ADSR; they will only follow the envelope established by the higher note. The lower notes will play the string sounds with no problems. Another possibly related issue is that any bass sounds (either synth bass or the bass/cello settings on the strings) will not play when the key is pressed; when the key is released it will play a short, percussive bass note (no sustain)!
