Sequential Six-Trak

Sequential Six-Trak

2001-09-24 by Brian Andrew Marek

Hi there, I'm in the process of fixing a Sequential Circuits Six-Trak,
and one fault has me rather puzzled: the pitch-bend wheel. I have
adjusted it properly so that the center detent position is the natural
note. Now, I can gradually bend down to a major 3rd below the note,
just the way it's supposed to. But the moment I go UP, it goes directly
to a major 3rd above the note without any transition whatsoever. It
just goes from point a to point b with no warning. I've checked out the
potentiometer itself and there's nothing wrong with it. Any ideas?

Incidentally, I have a Roland S-10 sampler which has a VERY similar
problem I've never been able to resolve - in the case of the Roland, you
can hit notes above and below the natural, but it "skips" the natural!
