Wasn't the MG-1 the small synth that was sold for Moog in Radio Shack stores about 20 years ago? I thought I remember seeing all their owner's and service manuals on their web site in Adobe format, though I might be wrong. It's been a while since I was over on the RS web site. Hello,
I have a question that maybe someone could
suggest a solution to. I have a Crumar T1 organ that
prouces a "crackly" sound when some of the keys are
depressed...I had cleaned the spring contacts a few
months ago with some electrical contact cleaner that I
purchased at Radio Shack, but the problem seems to
have come back somewhat...Any suggestions?
Best,
James

If that MG-1 is missing its side panels, this might be a good time to replace them with some nice walnut or maple sides, stained and varnished. I've seen a lot of synths with wood sides added. Seems to make them more attractive. Not sure if there's room in there to install 1/4 plugs, or worse yet, an XLR connector, but you can try. I also found instructions on the net for adding MIDI hookups to the MG-1 if you are interested. I found a web page dedicated to the MG-1. Seems to be pretty thorough. You'll find it here: http://www.kleonard.com/gear/mg1.htm

yeah i was thinking it would be cool to put some nice wood sides for it.. looks like there is plenty of room for the 1/4" jacks.. its outs are mounted on their own little pcb which will have to be moved.. but that will probobly be better than drilling new holes.. i will be pretty happy if i can turn this dirty,non-working, sideless, halfway disassembled little synth into a nice looking and well working piece of gear.. thanks alot for everyone's help! i very much appriciate it! i actually have a couple repair projects in the works.. so i will probobly have some future questions.. ill keep you posted on the MG1.. peace, devin --- Robert Williams <will7370@...> wrote: > If that MG-1 is missing its side panels, this might > be a good time to replace them with some nice walnut > or maple sides, stained and varnished.
