Moog source Modifications.

2008-01-30 by mrjdevries

Hey all.

I just recently purchased a Moog Source, and am having plenty of fun
with it.

I was wondering if anyone out there knows how to mod the source so you
can clock the arpeggiator (Which is real clever) off an external clock
etc..

I found the Encore website, and they sell midi mods for it, which does
allow the arpeggiator to clock to midi, but I want something a touch
more simple than that..

Any help would be much appreciated.

Regards

Mike

have you got schemos? the arpeg runs off the same clock as the LFO,
which I always thought was a bit cheap. I've been after modifying my
two sources aswell... I have the chops & the schemos, but just didn't
get around to it yet... :-) there are a number of things you can get
(off ebay for instance) that will produce a suitable "tick" from a
midi clock, & it should be fairly straighforward to replace the LFO
square-wave with the midi-derived clock if you can follow the schemo.

Yea, I had a brief look over the schems last night, and I think i can see where I can break the LFO clock, and insert my own clock in there.
I was hoping someone else out there had done this so I didn't have to re-invent the wheel so to speak.
I'll keep you posted if I get any good results etc.
