Kevin Lightner recently had a few sets for revisions 1 and 2 in his ebay
auctions; like this:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220223554576

Perhaps he still has a few more, I don't know.

For rev. 3:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250236296049

And yes, there are some switch tops that should work as well.

Mouser Electronics in the US has the old style covers. Check the catalogue
pages for sub-miniature switches.

Not all the colors are available (no pink iirc) but otherwise they are a
close enough replacement and really help an Oddy restoration.

I used them on a Quadra as well - a rather dull looking synth that needs a
little brightening up ;)

Prophet 10 factory patches

2008-05-07 by Miguel Mendoza

Hello group, I would like to transmit the factory presets to my Prophet 10. Although I downloaded the files from the net I can't find any information about this procedure on the manual or at any web site.
Please, does anybody have any idea about the keys combination on the Prophet to perform the sysex receive mode or any other information?

I really apreciate your help.

Thanks in advance.

Miguel Mendoza.

There are plenty of Prophet 5 owners manuals floating
around on the web, if you download one it will have
the correct procedure. If you are using tape, don't
forget to turn off any Dolby.

Re: [vintagesynthrepair] Prophet 10 factory patches

Thanks a lot for your answer but this is the only thing I found regarding this, it's not very clear for me and it doesn't explain the mechanical procedure:

Notes on Prophet-5 sysex:
The P-5 has got a pretty awkward way of handling sysex.
First, you have to request each patch individually, bulkdump not possible.
And when the P-5 sends a patch, it's not terminated with F7.
(This can make it difficult to successfully dump the P-5 since many sysex programs will wait for an F7 before they continue sending requests.)
If one patch is requested it's terminated with F0, making the total number of bytes equal 52.
But if several patches are requested then the last patch for some reason won't have the F0 added.
So the size of a 40prog dump is 39*52+51=2119bytes. You then have to manually add an F7 to make the dump acceptable for some seq. programs
giving a total of 2120bytes for a complete bank dump of 40 progs.
That's what you get when you download the banks at this site.
Then there it's the problem of bank allocation.
When loaded from tape the patches always ends up in the active bank.
In the sysex code each patch is given a number from 0-119.
All factory sets found here will end up in bank1.
To be able to load them into bank 2 and 3 I've made a simple Win3.1
conversion program.

Here you can download the Prophet-5 midi implementation.

Notes on Prophet-10 sysex:
Same comments as for Prophet-5, but the dumpsize is 69 bytes per patch, 68 for the last patch in the dump.
