Oberheim OB-X

Oberheim OB-X

2010-05-17 by William N

Hello all! I was given a nice old Oberheim OB-X, the 4 voice version. It has what's left of the factory memory battery still in place. Anybody know what replaces it in today's parts availability? Bloody synth still runs, it just needs lotsa love and a SERIOUS cleaning, as well as a new battery. Thanks for any help you all can give here!

Found a replacement at Batteries Plus, a chain store. Even had the same brand. They had to tack weld some tabs to it which I can solder leads to in order to transition to the power supply board. Wow. The girl there was freakin' out, she hadn't seen one of those things in quite awhile. I told her she should see what it came out of!
Now, we're off! I'll keep you all posted on the restoration progress.

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
