MiniKorg 700 Restoration Project - Parts needed!

MiniKorg 700 Restoration Project - Parts needed!

2010-09-20 by nervejam

Hi.
I've decided to sort out my Minikorg 700. (Not 700s).
It has one missing key (F), and half of the G key missing too.
The power switch is broken (stuck ON), and there are several missing sliders and knobs. The woodwork is poor, and has been painted black.
There are some pictures on my website here: http://www.nervejam.com/projects/minikorg-700/

However, I'm having trouble sourcing parts, especially the keys. They are the same as MS-10/MS-20/Moog, so they are in demand.

If I can't find replacement keys, I'll have to consider breaking it up (shame as it works), and selling the parts on eBay (the keys alone would raise a lot of money).
(I DO have a spare Lowery keyboard, but fitting that is going to be a major pain.)

Can anyone help?

COOL!

Nice project! As far as keys, you might try Bob Weigel at:
http://www.sounddoctorin.com. He stocks keys, and often has what you might
need. He's good, and reasonable.
Also, please try Senso's website: http://www.vintageplanet.nl/content.html.
He's in Holland, which may be a bit pricey for those of us in the US and Canada,
but he usually has a VAST stock of parts. And he's a frequent contributor on
Analogue Heaven.
Wishing you great luck in finding the parts you need!
Dave Garfield - lost in the "wilds" of Coloraddy, USA...

I've just been outbid on an auction for an F key. I went as far as usd 35. God knows how far the other bidder would have gone? (the seller was vintageplanet, btw)
Any suggestions?
Need a G as well.. Can't afford usd 70 for two keys..

Senso's website is vintageplanet.nl (I've used him before - I'm in the UK), he says that the keys are in such demand that the only fair way is to auction them.
I have a request in with sounddoctorin as well, but the website says he's on vacation.. Darn.
Still, I don't give up that easily..

Hi,

I may have keys from a broken Micro Preset I wanted to "modularise", but I can't tell if the ones you're looking for ar in good shape.

I'll take a look when I'm back home and let you know.

Cheers

Hi no.freq,
Thanks, that'd be much appreciated. The existing keys aren't brilliant anyway - I've cleaned them up a bit, but whoever painted the wood black seems to have used a yardbrush..
Fingers crossed that you have a good f & g..
Thanks in advance..
