Roland GR-500 synth Poly-Ensemble doubling trigger?

I just bought one complete GR/GS-500 system and I wonder if the Poly-Ensemble section works properly. Since I cannot compare with demos on the web since it is very rare to see this unit, I hope somebody can help me. The Poly-Ensemble envelope generator seems to retrigger the sound when I pluck a string. I noticed this situation when I set the Attack or Decay control with a delay sufficiently long. Is it normal?
