Simple Univox Minikorg 2 Issues

2012-07-17 by r andrew

Hello!
I'm trying to track down the last two lingering 'issues' on my Univox Minikorg..

1 - There is often (30-40% of the time) an audible click (or snap) when depressing and/or releasing a key. The click sounds the same even when the filters are totally closed, so it must be happening after that stage (probably in the VCA/envelope?).

2 - Only when the SUSTAIN switch is engaged, the oscillator can still be heard (very faintly) after a note should have ended (there is a persistent ringing of the last engaged note). Changing the filter DOES affect the lingering tone.
This SUSTAIN switch connects POINT 17 to either POINT 13 or POINT 15.

Here are the easy-to-read schematics:

Also, to lower the minimum VIBRATO RATE, am I correct in thinking that I need to reduce the value of the 56k resistor at POINT 51?

Thank you very much!
- Robert

Hi Robert,

I'm not sure if it helps at all but I had a similar click problem with my Moog Prodigy.

Turned out I managed to put the keyboard connector on the wrong way around.........it might be worth checking ?

Best regards, Martin
