Kurzweil K2000 crashes

After obtaining a used SLOW toshiba external cd-rom drive, I was relieved of the last round of crashes, and thought I was out of the woods...Until today... Things were going great for several hours, but then, I pushed the DISK button, and the k2k crashed...ran after a couple of reboots provided no change, I ran diagnostics...all passed save the Calvin and Hobbes #8 test...I read in the archives somewhere that #8 should crash. I have no idea what that means, or if it is true. Anyway, there's this new crash issue. COuld it be heat? OS? (currently running 3.18... I am going to let it cool down for a time, and see if it makes any difference later in the day. Will also disconnect the scsi chain. Thanks in advance for any suggestions! Robert
