Sequential Circuits Model 700 Programmer page

2013-10-29 by <davebr@...>

I just finished repairing a SCI Model 700 Programmer first version. There is some information on the Rev 1 version but I could find no information on this first version. I created a web page with some documentation, photos, and scope and logic analyzer waveforms. Hopefully it can help someone else working on theirs.

I was unaware of these units until I got this one - it's got some nice features.

thanks Dave Useful to me.

I have a mark Ii and some user manuals in pdf. The manual includes the sci hack for a minimoog for arp gate, and 3 independent vco inputs. Using cascading switch jacks I can do these combinations 1=al VCOs, 1=VCO1 & 2=VCO2+VCO3, 1=1VCO, 2=2VCO, 3=3VCO independent

Jupiter-8 pot

2014-01-20 by Terje Winther

Hi all,
I am repairing a Jupiter-8, and the VCO 1/2 balance pot is broken.
It is an Alps 10KB pot, PCB mount with a 90 degrees bend on the legs. The shaft is the split type, and shaft length is 20 mm.
I have tried a lot of places, but the specific type needed is not to be found.
Does anyone have a spare, or know where I might get one?

Hey Terje,

Have you found a pot that is close but that has straight legs? If so, you could bend them and/or solder on extensions. I've done that with pots on Electro Harmonixs pedals.

best,

DT

Have you tried searching the ALPS site for the right part (make sure you look for Log (Aud) or Lin as appropriate) and come up with a close match?

http://www.alps.com/WebObjects/catalog.woa/E/HTML/Potentiometer/RotaryPotentiometers/RotaryPotentiometers_list1.html

Whilst you may arrive at an exact match there's no guarantee anyone's ever ordered that specific part and hence you may not find a stockist.

Another manufacturer you may care to try is Alpha Potentiometers, they may do something similar.

I've just had very similar issues trying to replace a 10k ALPS pot in a volume pedal with one of another value and ended up with another make altogether.

Stockists you could try are Mouser (USA/Worldwide), Farnell (UK/Worldwide), Elfa in Sweden.

Happy hunting.
