SCI Prophet VS rack cartridge slot not working ?

Hi guys,
I have a wonderful Prophet VS rack with everything working fine except the cartridge slot.
I've checked all the connectors and all is in place, but when I insert a cart, the switch is not turning on
and I cannot get to it at all.
The switch is fine, checked that also.
Even found a new cart PCB, but still the same problem, also with different ROM or RAM carts.
Any of you had this experience also on the rack VS or any idea what this could be ?
