Morpheus Memory

Morpheus Memory

2017-12-14 by rpcfender@...

I am writing a Emu Morpheus library program and I have come up with a problem.

I can't find a quick sysex bulk dump to grab the edit buffer, which is easy in later Emu synths, as there doesn't seem to have an address for the edit buffer in the sysex spec.

I thought, instead, I would do a dump to User Preset 128 and then call that preset.into the edit buffer.

The Morpheus has battery and so I am assuming that it is battery backed up SRAM and not flash.

I know that flash has a very limited number of writes, but are there different types of battery backed SRAM that also have only a small number of writes?

Is that the type in the Morpheus?

Or does anyone know what the RAM is so I can look it up?

I know that in the early versions of Prodatum, the Emu Proteus 2000 editor, the programmer wrote to the User preset area directly (flash memory) and ended up wearing out some of it.

I don't want to do that in this fairly rare synth.

Thanks for the help.
