E-mu Morpheus

Anyone with circuit diagram or service manual?

I keep getting messages about ILL and then an address or PRC and then an address and it then locks up.

It has been intermittent for a couple of months, but it is now unusable.

I have checked leads and reseated anything with sockets as well as replacing the SRAM battery.

I replaced the SM power supply about 7 years ago and as I bought the Morpheus new I know the first lasted from '93 to 2011.

The voltages from the power supply is + and - 12v and a double wire of 5V.

The 5V supply is 4.7V loaded and 5.0V unloalded (caps going?).

As well as the audio the 12V is 7805'd and feed to the program ROM

Is this low 4.7V enough to generate such errors?

Any E-mu techs out there?

Hi Bakis.

I had the same thought and was tempted, but I think Creative own all the E-mu rights and designs.
His Morpheus Eurorack filter looks pretty good.

I just thought there might be a tech about that had serviced the units in the day.

Thanks

I hate to say this but there is a REALLY GOOD group of synth repair folks on Facebook. It's pretty much the same name as this group if memory serves. Facebook is a horrible platform for it because of bad search and file storage options (and poor S/N), but the guys on that group are top notch. Maybe you can encourage some of them to come here. :)

Ask your question over there.

Thanks grantpbt,
it is very sad, but I just can't go near Facebook.
It feels like one of the 'evilest' mega companies in the world, corrupting the internet for it's own ends.

Thanks anyway.

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
