[vintagesynthrepair] Wurly 200A Transisters

[vintagesynthrepair] Wurly 200A Transisters

2002-12-29 by makisupapf@aol.com

I recently picked up a wurly 200 a. The people that sold it to me said that
they saw the fuse was blown, they bypassed it and all they heard was a hum.
I talked to my analog synth tech about this and he mentioned that because
they bypassed the fuze i would now probably need to replace the two
transisters on top of replacing the fuse. Can anyone confirm this? Also,
does anyone know where I can find these transisters? Thanks in advance!

I'm not sure if I responded to this before or not, but it's likely you
would have to replace a lot more than just two transistors. The 200a
used a differential amplifier that did not take kindly to modifications,
like jumping out fuses. Find a good tech and take it to him, or mail it
to Morelock's Organ Service in Reins, Miss.

forum?

2003-01-05 by Fin

Would people here be interested in a Vintage Synth Repair forum as
opposed to an emailer?

I'm hosting a couple of forums with the usual features, and would
gladly host another.

regards,
Fin

I think it's a better idea to leave things the way they are and stick to email. Yahoo nicely archives stuff, plus, there are already way too many synth sites online and its harder to find lists / forums than it should be. I remember the days when usenet was just about it. Ah, memories.

Glad you valued this opinion. Wouldn't it be great if all lists and sites with similar or even identical content MERGED in order to make life easier for all of us? I just joined a lot of Yahoo groups, but Yahoo wouldn't even let me join 1/3 of the ones I am interested in over 2 separate days as I reached their limit.

I agree. It's better to leave everything as is.

Does not matter to me as I haven't really found anyone
that has redone an ob-8 other then having taken it in
to someone else to repair.
