for clarity- 
i think it's a good idea for makers to clearly publish ALL the specs
relevant to electrically AND mechanically interface their products...

but before i got to the part wherein i voice my support for the
publishing of mechanical specs too, i had already torn off into my
pet-peeve, and my support for makers BUILDING stuff with different
formats.

the folly of zealotry!
