If you use other manufacturer's stuff (such as the Blacet VCOs and
the Miniwave, which are modules that Grant had a hand in creating) to
supplement what Wiard stuff you get, you can certainly get going right
now.
gary,
3 quick comments -
1) good call on the blacets. i have a miniwave and they are great. haven`t
tried a vco yet.
2) sticking with frac-rac size, for my 2cents worth, the essential 3rd
party add-on is the bananalogue vcs. gives good service as vco/lfo/etc.. with
the existing 1200 series, the vcs and grants next briefly mentioned on the list
goodies modukes, an envelooper and a complex vco, it couldn`t get much better
! :^)
3) being a total weirdo head case (just ask the doc ! ) with little use for
"tonality"* in the electro-noise i make to amuse myself with, i find that using
the "clock out" from the noise ring as a vco and driving the "ext rate" with an
c.v., i can get a very servicable "vco" to help "fill the gap" while we wait and
see what brewing in the secret basement in milwaukee - beyond whatever use i may
make of the noise rings other sonic depths.
( * - here, i mean in the personal sense, "tonality" as
stated **but** in the technical sense that the clock/vco in the noise ring
is linear so won`t play "in tune" with regular musically oriented controllers
and for my applications (my personal enjoyment) this is - not - a
liability)
best,
