DIY job completed for now

2007-03-21 by Norman Fay

Yeah, it's 3/4" pine. Fast grown, which on the plus side means it's
cheap (more money to spend of filling the spaces in it) and sort-of
light, the downside is that it marks easily.

The staining/varnishing of the upper half is finished anyway! Here
are some pics of it in situ, and patched up:

It worked out pretty well - I can sit in front of it and reach/see
everything clearly and easily. All I want to for the future is
convert the 1200/frac modules in the lower case from the Blacet
skeleton racks they're in to rack rails as in the upper case, thus
squeezing in a couple more modules. I've had an absolute blast
playing it the last couple of weeks, it really is a great instrument.

I'm still looking for a source for those colo(u)red 1/8" jacks you can
see in the photos, I'd like to get at least 20 of each colour.
