It has happened again, someone copied a legitimate eBay auction and is trying to scam with it. As far as Prof. Thayer and I know, the system is still in the US, is not being sold and this auction is a vaporware copy of the original. Beware! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Rare-Wiard-Analog-Modular- Synthesiser_W0QQitemZ270281413081QQ You have to be VERY careful with Wiard auctions. First, the vast majority of people who have Wiard instruments would never sell them. Thank you all kindly for this support. Second, if it does trade hands, it is usually between friends in complicated barters like "OK, the pristine OB-8 with the second layer graphics for the EMS Equalizer, Gentle Electric P to V, the dented Moog Parametric and to seal the deal I'll throw in a Wiard Sequantizer I haven't been using much recently". Third, there have been so many scam auctions, most people contact me so I can verify that it is real on this group. Sometimes they are very apologetic about having to sell the instrument for a personal or family emergency. Braces for a 14 year old are more important in the long run than a music synthesizer, I am not offended. It is true that I have joked that every Wiard instrument will always belong to me, and the money just gets you a lifetime rental. This is legally ridiculous. But when you hand craft something one at a time, you develop a sense of connection with it that is not so much ownership, but parenthood. I want my child surrogates to be in good homes where they are loved and not mistreated. <humor> Unfortunately I forgot to put in a circuit where they call me at Christmas time. </humor> And it REALLY ticks me off when criminals use my hard work to defraud the sincerely innocent. Innocence is a vital natural resource that must be protected perpetually and carefully. Once it is lost, it is gone forever, and you can never be that unguarded person ever again.
