These are dark times, what with the economy, the Packers are 5-9, and now Wiard on the wane. But we do have a new president, a new fold in our history, and shoes being thrown at the cowboy on his way out. I suppose it must be strange for Grant. People so hungry for an instrument that has succeeded in gaining such a pedigree. To be so admired yet perhaps alienated from those who do so. To have to labor so tediously to fulfill orders on a design that maybe he wished had died years ago. Yet the satisfaction of cultivating just a fraction of say --the Wogglebug --is so truly wonderful and satisfying. I make a patch and freak out and share it with my wife who both smiles in appreciation and is impressed yet roles her eyes. I remember when I came to visit you and you created that patch that tried to simulate a TRex for my dinosaur-worshipping kid. He wasn't convinced BTW. I think I've said this before on this list awhile back, but the first time I talked to Grant in I think 2001 and inquired about the Wiard he patiently explained that the Wiard was not for neophytes and that maybe I should look at the other manufacturers making simpler yet excellent modules. It was like talking to a guildmaster gunsmith recommending I reconsider the expense and precision of the new rifle and just buy a musket if all I want to do is scare away the birds from my field. But he was patient. And I got a couple modules. So Grant I just want to say thanks because I don't know what else to say. The Dual Borg is better than any psychiatry. It means a lot. It's a healing art in a world in which dots and dashes and right angles have so arrogantly prevailed. Thanks for the medicine Grant. Take care and all my best, Bill in Madison
