Sequantizer Mod

Sequantizer Mod

2003-11-28 by Christophe Curtis

With Grant's help I modded my sequantizer to allow for external cv signals
to be run into the units quantizer block. This gives approx 1 octave of
quantization along with access to the the oct shifts transpose and slide.

Messing around with the inside of the unit really brought home the foresight
Grant put into his design concept. It was very easy to decouple a jack
from the mults and set it up as normed for internal quantization and then
available to external quantization via a jack breaking the normed
connection. It only took 2 pieces of wire and about 30 seconds of
soldering to complete. If anyone is interested in the dirty details feel
free to email me.

Christophe,

Now that I have the Noise Ring, your mod seems like the perfect match
for it! A wide range quantizer would be fantastic.

In one setting, the NS reacts like a s/h patch, when you are sampling
a ramp wave and you have fed back the s/h output to fm the ramp wave.

It produces some really wonderful gestures that would be quite useful
and provocative if quantized....

I have been experimenting with the Analogue Solutions RS300
(analog-to-midi convertor)- recording the output of various Wiard
devices to Logic, so that I can edit (you know, transpose, change
tempo, etc). By quantizing the signals, it would make it possible to
have plugin synths play in unison with the Wiard!
