Re:300 series back in full production

I was disappointed too, but I'm glad that Grant is doing what he needs to do o keep his business healthy, alive, and kicking. Who knows, someday when my frac modular is finished (ha ha) and then when my Modcan modular is finished (laughing even harder now) maybe I'll feel crazy enough to get into a third format. Until then, I just placed an order for one of every one of the Wiard Frac format modules I don't already own. I wonder if there were many other fence-sitters who decided their credit cards should take a hit when the end of Frac-format modules was announced...

:-)

So I guess I'm in the minority being disappointed that there aren't
more Frac Rack modules on the way?

What difference will these being in full production have on the price/availability? As I understand they were still available even after Grant axed them. They just cost more. I wonder what\u2019s the new status?

Regards,
John

Soon after my initial yelp of pain I realized I wasn't thinking modular. If the 300 series modules can patch to Blacet/1200 Wiard and Banalogue then it's only another slightly different rack. I can take things like the Sequantizer and just patch in and out. Hope I am right..can someone confirm?
As to the idea of a fibreglass panel..my reply is like many others..if it doesn't break and there are no other real issues..why not? I guess most Wiard customers aren't going to be too conventional but i wouldn't be urprised if this happens and it works that other manufacturers would follow.

I'm sure you will hear this a dozen times: they are completely compatible,
same voltage range, same power supply (Grant is sending me a PS500 for my
300 series), same jacks obviously, same scaling (no Hz/V). You can drive
a Blacet osc with a Sequantizer, you can drive a Classic VCO with a Binary
Zone.

thanks, I did hope so. I didn't realise it's the same power supply..that's a bonus! regards, Mark

Grant,

While you’re at it, you could take the engraving of the 300 series, etch them with copper on the fiberglass PCB panels, silver plate them, and run tiny vias from them to the back for surface mounted components and more traces. This way the esthetic design becomes part of the circuit design! J

One point of clarification: the power supply, voltages, etc. are the same,
but I think the actual power cables for the 300 series may be different?
In the next couple of weeks, Mail gods willing, I'll know for certain :)

cheers,
Paul
