Was it you that sold me an MS20 many uears ago in the 90'S? If so I curse you! I've since bought many many more and am terribly addicted to those wonderful sounds!
I just wanted to say thank you really.

Hi, is this product release licensed, or wild like Rambo running with a publicly posted schematic?was permission secured due to the commercial nature of the modules?

'licenses? ... we don' need no steenkin' licenses!'

Hi Thomas

i believe 'who knew' referred to the Professors surprise at hearing what twelve Wbug#3's sound like all at once. Grant generally builds the 300-series versions one at a time so i doubt he ever heard an ensemble like that before.

as for the legal provenance of the makenoise Wbugs-

There is more detail about this in message 3757 but, in a nutshell, the makenoise wogglebug module is -based- on a design that Grant published in 2001. Grant's action (in 2001) places the original design in the public domain and thus precludes a license for that design. The makenoise gadget is not built by Grant at Wiard world headquarters in Milwaukee.
Out of courtesy, Mr. Rolando (at Makenoise), sought Grant's permission to write 'wiard' on the front panel and offered him a nominal royalty for doing so. But that arrangement applies strictly to the use of the wiard name on the panel. Makenoise makes the modules in the video and the 'wiard' on the panel is an courteous attribution to the inventor of the design.
