Production Notes - mysterious.mp3

2001-08-25 by grantrichter2001@yahoo.com

I managed to work some hours (6 exactly) on the Wiard tonight!

I planned to create a mysterious or scary atmosphere.
It's all Wiard (except reverb). As I needed a polyphonic pad, I
made a Wiard-multisample (24bit into Halion) to get that! It
works very well.

I hope you like it. The choir (uuuuh) is also a wiard-patch (4
Oszillators: 1xVCO-Sine, 1xWaveformcity-Sine, 2xBorg-Triangle
into Omni, then into Borg to cut some noise). The rest wasn't
difficult! (lots of mixing-desk automation)

I forgot to describe how I did the higher bell-tinkle-loop-sound. I
did that some weeks ago using Ringmod (2xSinewaveforms)
and Lin-FM together and sequenced it with the Sequantizer. I
recorded 3 Minutes of that (I sometimes forget that I am
recording when turning the knobs), then I was searching for the
best 5-Seconds-Part on that recording, then I looped it there until
it behaved naturally. The rest is a good portion of the
1982-Quantec-Reverb.

Hi all,

some modular patches you find on the
   www.Modular-Planet.de
I hope you can use it for the Wiard!!!

I`m looking for choir-sounds and found the Wiard sample ‚mysterious`
from Olivier Gerber. It sounds great! Is it possible for you to create
a diagram from the ‚choir (uuuuh)`-sound ?

Greetings

Josef

hi,

I remember the choir-sound, but not very much of the patch. I already
tried to redo that sound again, but wasn't too succesful. It is not
possible with 2 VCO's (you need at least 4). I never do diagrams or
pictures of my patchings. I maybe should begin to take pictures.
Sometimes I just do a mulisample. It wasn't a complicated patch, but
what was complicated is the tune and the level of the four waveforms
(sine, sine, tri, tri). So I cannot replicate that out of my mind. I
maybe try that sound again, if I am successful, I'll post it to you
with all the fine-tunes.

Olivier
