live SF thurs 12/5
2002-12-03 by Doug Pearson
Apologies to those outside the San Francisco Bay Area. I'll be playing Wiard synthesizer (no quantized 1v/oct CV's, just weird noises, sorry) with "space/jam/jazz" (mostly) improvisational band Neurohumors at CURVE (415)896-2286, 737 Third St. (at Townsend, near the ballpark) San Francisco, this thursday evening (7PM show, we play second, roughly 8-10PM-ish). The other bandmembers include drums/keyboards (the bandleader, yes, he plays them simultaneously), guitar, bass, and violin. The Motherfolkers play first, and Noema, last. As long as I'm spamming the list, I'll mention that my "main" band, D'JellyBrains (a punk/psych power trio in which I play bass, some other u.s.-made analog modular under foot control, and sing a bit), is playing the prior evening (wed 12/4), also in San Francisco, at the Parkside (415)503-0393, 1600 17th St. (at Wisconsin, across from Jackson playground) 10PM. We're opening for The Greening, who are described as "Brian Wilson meets the Ramones". -Doug jasret@mindspring.com
