The explanation is on p 78 of SysEx Manual v. 2.2 [pdf] (the next to the last page not including "the back cover"), I think its there (in the back)in manuals v 2.1 and v 2.0 also. EG For remote control session: rotary event: main encoder 7F 7F = counterclockwise knob turn one notch (i.e., -1) 00 7F = counterclockwise knob turn 128 notches (i.e., -128) sample application: If front panel is (1) at pattern view menu (2) with the cursor at the pattern number position (3) showing 127-7 as the current pattern, then 00 7F will simluate counterclockwise main encoder turns to 127-6. 00 7E will simulate counterclockwise main encoder turns to 127-5. 01 78 will simulate counterclockwise main encoder turns to 000-0. [In short, LSB MSB nibblized 2's compliment] Not sure if all other parameters follow the same LSB MSB order. I seem to recall some varaitions. Hope this helps. Dr. Steve
